Best dressed man in Academy Awards

Eddie Redmayne

Redmayne is this award season's red carpet MVP. The actor killed it in this perfect-fitting Alexander McQueen rig walking into the awards, and looked just as sharp on stage in a smart Burberry number.

Channing Tatum
Tatum kicked off the three-piece trend we saw at the show, opting to add a vest underneath his elegant shawl lapel. Add to that a close-cropped haircut, and we can't remember the last time the guy looked this put together.

Bryan Cranston
Cranston's a style ninja, always popping up at awards shows looking damn good without calling attention to his getups. We'll call it the Walter White approach to red carpet dressing.

Joseph Gordon Levitt
JGL's bow tie may be a bit bold for those slim lapels, but we can't hold it against him when everything else is spot on.

Jeremy Renner
Renner lets the curse of the excess pant hem distract from an otherwise slick Givenchy tux.

Daniel Radcliffe
Think about the last time you saw Radcliffe misstep on the red carpet. You can't, can you? The post-Potter actor aces things again, this time in Prada.

Chris Tucker
That. Bow. Tie.

Christoph Waltz
We want to pull in Waltz's tux a little bit and shorten the jacket a hair—but the guy won, so we'll let it slide.

Justin Theroux
Respect to Theroux for having badass all-black style every day, but still knowing how to turn it out like a proper gentleman when it comes to a big night like the Oscars.

Ben Affleck
Affleck is the perfect case of what a couple of quick fixes can do. If he lost the vest, tapered the pants, and, of course, and straightened that bow tie, he could have modernized his whole rig.

Bradley Cooper
Cooper looks like the Most Interesting Man in the World twenty years ago, which is to say his Tom Ford tux and slicked-back hair make him look like a true movie star.

George Clooney
The Most Interesting Man in the World.

Chris Pine
Pine ventures into DB territory, which can prove tricky if the jacket doesn't fit like a glove, but the actor's made-to-measure Ermenegildo Zegna tux hugs in all the right places.

Daniel Day-Lewis
Day-Lewis might be twice as old as some of the other guys at the Oscars, but the big winner out-dressed them all, in a Domenico Vacca rig that looked younger and more modern than most.

Hugh Jackman
A DB shawl-collar tux like this Tom Ford can easily slide into bathrobe territory unless you're built like Jackman, so if you dig the silhouette, hit the gym or opt for a single-breasted option.

Seth McFarlane
Love him or hate him, McFarlane knows how a tuxedo jacket should fit, letting these roped Gucci shoulders broaden his frame and cut a slick silhouette.

Liev Schreiber
Liev, here in Calvin Klein, gives guys everywhere a lesson in being a good date. Look the part, but let your lady be the center of attention—which isn't hard when she's Naomi Watts.

Jaime Foxx
So let's get this right. After the already meh charcoal tux and black dress shirt combo, you thought what was missing was a sequined bow tie? Just checking.

Jean Dujardin
Seth McFarlane's jabs aside, Dujardin looked every ounce the suave Frenchman from his big win last year this time around.

Quentin Tarantino
Congrats on the win, Quentin! Although we wouldn't usually advise going on a bender before the big awards.
